See here for area levels, as long as it's between 26-40 then any crystal swords/polearms that drop from normal monsters will be able to get 4 sockets from the cube/Larzuk. I don't think there's any other target besides cows that are more likely to drop item bases, hopefully if you're lucky you'll drop one as you're going through normal Act 4/5 or in some areas of nightmare Act 1. However, be aware that champions/minions/bosses have a higher monster level which might push them over the mlvl 40 threshold if you're in the higher alvl areas.Īs for the best place to find them besides cows, I'm not sure. Crystal swords and polearms from item lvl (ilvl) 26-40 will have a maximum of 4 sockets from cubing/Larzuk, so any crystal swords or polearms dropped from the start of the normal Outer Steppes (area level 26) to normal WSK level 2 (alvl 40) will work.
4 socket weapons can't directly drop in normal, they only start dropping in nightmare onwards.
